Organic Beef Stew
Everything you need to make the best Beef Stew. I had good intentions of using the Wondra to make some gravy but it ended up coming out perfect without it. Also last minute I decided to throw in another potato.
Brown 1 lb. stew meat in 1 1/2 tbsp. Vegetable oil for about 7 minutes, then add diced onions for about another 7 minutes. Add the water, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, bay leaf, salt, sugar cane, pepper, paprika and allspice. Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
This is a great time to clean up all the mess you made to get to this point. I ended up doing dishes, started a load of laundry, folded a load of laundry, fed the kids some watermelon, cleaned up the kids after they ate their watermelon and cutting up the carrots and celery, whew. Who knew I would be this busy.
Remove the bay leaf and add the carrots and celery.
Cover and cook another 30 minutes. About 20 minutes before the stew is done start your water for the potatoes. Add the peas about 10 minutes before serving, they don't take long to cook. When your water is finally at a boil, add your potatoes and cook for 12 minutes, drain and while the potatoes are resting in the colander add your butter and milk to the pan you were just using. Add the potatoes and mash away.
Played with Lily a little bit too in the mix of things.
Finally dinnertime I know the kids are hungry just 1 more picture, I promise.
Lily said she loved her meal.
Brody says "yummy meat."
